Slackware is not like Ubuntu in many ways. You will need to do some reading and learning to get the wireless working in Slackware. The good news is, if it worked in Ubuntu, it will work in Slackware.

This link is the best document I have found on this topic. It works, if you follow it, and have a few skills.

I don't know how much you know about Slackware, if you need help installing packages, go to this link;

http://genek.net/LinuxAdventures/index.html

There is help here to install, configure and manage your shiny new Slackware system. This is how I got stared, it works.

On the Slackware installation dvd, look in /extra and install wicd. This should get you going. I don't know why its not installed by default.

Yeah I just got slackware running too, with wireless. I had no idea how to get the internet working because there doesn't seem to be much documentation on it, but somewhere I read that you should use wicd. It works for the ethernet connections too.

It should be in your fourth cd, in /extra/wicd.

You should be able to use installpkg on it
