How to Access Slack Files via Live CD?

Okay, so I was playing around with some files in Slackware and decided to do something stupid for the sake of experimentation. I wouldn't say I screwed something up because I did it intentionally to see what would happen (that's how you learn, right?), but I disabled my login tool. I need to access to the /etc/rc.d/rc.4 file. I have a BackTrack 4 Live CD, but I can't figure out how, or if, I could access and fix the file.

Any advice? (And yes, I already Googled.)

If all you've broken is /etc/rc.d/rc.4 then just boot as normal and ctrl-alt-f6 and you should see a console login prompt. No need for anything fancy.

Alternatively, just put " 3" (<space> <three>) on the end of your lilo boot prompt.

Thanks, I'll give that a try.
