how do you save your session settings?

ok ive solved alot with some help from the forum.ive got my video setup,i finally solved my sound card issue(it was muted in the panel)and now i need how to save my session settings,i have to keep unmuting the sound,restarting compiz,etc so is there a way to save settings?

Startup your KDE Control Centre go to KDE Components--> Session Manager and select Restore previous session. In Kmix make sure you have selected Restore volumes on login selected under Settings--> Configure Kmix.
