How do you change KMenu logo?
I was wondering how you change the KMenu logo in KDE. I don't like it currently, and plenty of distos have done it. Any ideas?

go to /home/USER/.kde/share/icons
and in folder of your current iconset there is one kmenu.png change it to the one of your liking :p |
can it be permanent for all users?

"Nothing is permanent under moon!":D
As long as they use the same iconset - yeeessss |

It's not in my /home/USER/.kde/share/icons, there's no such file. I have /home/william/.kde/share/icons containing two folders, hicolor and locolor. I would like to change it though. Slackware 10.1 |
i use the crystalsvg theme for my icons, and i was able to change the Kmenu icon by going to these directories and replacing the kmenu.png file to the one i wanted.
/opt/kde/share/icons/crystalsvg/16x16/apps /opt/kde/share/icons/crystalsvg/32x32/apps /opt/kde/share/icons/crystalsvg/48x48/apps /opt/kde/share/icons/crystalsvg/64x64/apps /opt/kde/share/icons/crystalsvg/128x128/apps you also need to relaunch kicker for it to take effect or logout and login again for the icon to change. |
I think it depends on which KDE your using, I'm using 3.3 I think, the one that comes default with Slackware 10.1 but I'm going to upgrade to 3.4.
By the way, "USER" in the file path is supposed to be replaced by your user name. |
Yes, I am using KDE 3.4.
I'll have to be happy with changing the background colour. |
