how do I install winex?

hello
I'm trying to install Winex in slack9. I downloaded the source file (tar.tar) since the rest are all rpm. the problem is that when I compile it take all my free space (almost 300mb) and in never able to finish compilation
did I download the right version? is it usual that it uses so much disk space?
the name of the file is winex3.1.tar.tar

by the way, is there any program tha can convert rpm to tgz?

PD: sorry, my english sucks

long time i don't use it, but why don't you read the winex begginers guide that is located in the same webpage as the winex3.1 file? surely your anwers are there.

as for the rpm slack 9 comes with rpm2tgz/rpm2targz, never use it, i recommend the tar ball
