Exclamation How do I get my Slackware os to recognize my cd burner?

Hi, I am new to linux at least from the learning aspect. I successfully changed the permissions on my cdrom with help from the forum. Now my problem is getting my cdburner recognized. I went into the etc/fstab file and entered it as /dev/cdrom1 iso9660 auto, users,rw 0 0 and it does not word as when I try to use it I get "Mount: Special Device /dev/cdrom1 does not exist. I would appreciate any help I can get. It works with any other distro I have tried so I think it should work with Slackware too. Thanks bearon.

search the forum for a post "on cd-burning DVD combo drives" by JW. I remember seeing it a while back and it gives a step by step for the hdx=ide-scsi setup for cdburners and dvd drives - which is more than likely what you'll need to do to use it.
