How Do I Get Dual Monitors To Work in Slackware 14 using XFCE?
I just installed Slackware 14 and using KDE both monitors work great. I can stretch the desktop across both monitors. However, if I use XFCE I can't seem to figure out how to configure the dual monitor setup. By default both screens are mirrored. I need help figuring out how to configure a dual monitor setup with XFCE so that the desktop is stretched across both screens just like KDE.

The XFCE monitor tool has never worked for me. You can either use the KDE tool from within XFCE (menu->settings->system settings) or look into the command line tool xrandr.

Note that if you're using the proprietary NVIDIA blob, you can use nvidia-settings which has a straightforward GUI and works fairly well (although in my experience the recent versions have a habit of not setting the primary monitor the way you request)

The xrandr commands work well. However, the settings are not saved. If I reboot or exit from X and then start X again the screens resort back to the default mirroring of each other.

If you want to have it set up permanently I'm pretty sure you'll need to set up an xorg.conf.
