How do I get ActiveX to work?

Hey guys, I was recently on my Nextel page looking for some ringtones. All the previews are ActiveX. I can't seem to find anywhere to get that plugin for Firefox 2.x

Any ideas?

Thanks

ActiveX is a Microsoft propietary thing and as such does not work under Linux. It is also a good way to make your box insecure so it's not a good thing to run it.

Best bet is to run Windows inside a virtual machine.

I heard it can be done through wine somehow.

It's supposed to work (well, sort of...) via CrossOver Linux.

Firefox doesn't run Active X under Windows either. Due to security apparently.

Sometimes i use the firefox pluggin user-agent-switcher to access those awful websites, it will seem you're using Internet explorer (yuck).
Firefox Add-ons
Hopefully it helps

Or just use IEs4linux. I have to go to some pages that only work in IE for work, and thats what I use. You get IE6, so (most) pages won't tell you that you need to upgrade.

I've never heard of a page that only works in IE (and that will not work if you change your user-agent).

Modified to suit IE pages usually show without crap only using IE and may not work using firefox, opera, etc...
