How do i connect to my wireless network with my WMP54g linksys card?
 

I have a wmp54g linksys card with the drivers installed using driverloader ( only 30 day trial, is ther another way to do this?) and i still dont understand how to get the internet working lol im a linux newb i got it 2 days ago, i still have windows xp installed on another hd.. so could anyone guide me step by step how to do this?
I have slackware 11 and im just going to reinstall and put the 2.6 kernel on this time.

First let me say welcome to Linux and Slackware!

Second definatley switch to the 2.6 kernel, the wireless support is way better. Thats the first thing your going to want to do, second you need to see if there is a linux native driver for that card, I just checked the kernel and madwifi, they dont seem to support your card. I cant really walk you through because I have yet to setup one myself, however I would definatly checkout the networking forums, there probably going to be a better help. Just keep in mind though that its worth it, I've been using slack since 2000 and even after all that time I still run into problems every now and again, it took me 6 hours to get my widescreen LCD working correctly last week :)

The LinkSys WMP54g seems to have an RT2500 chipset, for which excellent Linux support should be available; you can find a Slackware package for it at http://www.linuxpackages.net/pkg_details.php?id=9438.

I do not personally have such hardware, though, so I wouldn't know how well it works.
