How do I change the KDE resolution?

How would I go about changing my resolution in kde from 1024x768 to 1280x1024?

I tried adding 1280x1024 here:
Subsection "Display"
Depth 24
Modes "1280x1024" "1024x768" "800x600" "640x480"
EndSubsection
but that ended up doing nothing...

any ideas?

Have you looked at Kicker -> Settings -> Peripherals -> Display -> Size&Orientation -> Screen size in KDE?

Does your Xorg.0.log file have any information as to why the 1280x1024 resolution is being rejected? Perhaps your monitor refesh rate settings are not compatible with the higher resolution.

It ended up being that my horizontal sync setting wasnt set right, but I ended up just installing my video card drivers and using the Nvidia utility. Thanks for the replies!
