I have a computer where I have installed Slackware 10.1

In the darkstar login prompt i am logging in as root.

i want to add a username and password for that user so that I can avoid logging as root. so please help me how do i add a username and password with a directory exclusively for the user under /home.

please provide me the command.

You probably need to read the whole book, but here is a detailed explanation of adduser mentioned by juan,

I found problems with:
Code:
useradd myusername
and I found that if I just
Code:
useradd (enter)
that things worked with out giving me problems (such as the user not being to access thier own home directory etc)
