I'm going back to slack as my working platform. If something goes awry initialy
with booting the ubuntu side - it will be resolvable - I'm sure.

I'm going to mark this thread as solved, with kudos to every
one who helped out. I do have a bit of a gripe tho' - I installed
slack 13.1 and when the prompt can up for the lilo configuration,
I first selected the advanced option, then decided I was
in the wrong place, then selected cancel, and instead of control
going to the previous 'screen', I was taken to the next
'screen' and thus lilo was not installed!

Was not a tragedy, because grub was left to boot things and
all was good. However, if I can find any reason at all to complain
about slackware installation, it is that sometimes (or so it seems
to me) that 'cancel' can take one back to a previous state and sometimes
not.
