How can i change picture or edit start up output? How can i make colourful grab or lilo (especially grub)

what about framebuffer pic? how can i put an image instead of penguin image?

You have to patch the kernel or replace a file (linux_logo.h) and recompile the kernel to change the framebuffer image.
The other output is all a mixture of messages from the kernel which can be increased or decreased (pass 'quiet' as a boot option to turn of all kernel messages), and the rest is the ouput from the init scripts and the commands run there. |
It is not so difficult to have graphical startup picture using lilo.
