how can i change my vga driver from "vesa" to "savage"
i have a s3 pro savage onboard chip and i just found out that my xorg.conf file has the "vesa" driver, i tried changing it to "savage" but it did nothing, how can i do this? i already have the savage_drv.o in the modules directory but i dont know what to do, should i just leave it at "vesa"?

If you haven't made changes to your xorg.conf you could just run xorgsetup or xorgconfig as root from the console and select your videocard using one of them. I would recommend the xorgconfig, even though it's older and looks more "primitive". At least for me it does better job in configuring the X. I'd recommend that you make a backup of your existing configuration (cp /etc/X11/xorg.conf /etc/X11/xorg.conf.bak) before running xorgsetup or xorgconfig in case something goes wrong with the configuration.
