Hibernate on laptop problematic
I am trying to get hibernate working on my Toshiba Satellite Pro 4200. I am running Slackware 11.0 on the 2.6.17.13 kernel. Hibernate (or more precisely, resume) works fine on my desktop but I can’t get it to work on the laptop. Instead, each time on rebooting I get the message that my filesystem is not clean and I also have to re-mkswap my swap partition.
I have enabled Software Suspend in the kernel and have chosen a default resume partition (resume=/dev/hda5). I have also enabled ACPI support in the kernel. I have tried passing the boot option resume=/dev/hda5, but that doesn’t seem to make any difference and it’s probably redundant anyway since I already added it in the kernel. Once again, resume works without a hitch on my desktop. What am I missing? Any tips would be much appreciated!
