Hi Performance Kernels?

What are theese and what exactly do they do. I have tried to search "Kolivas" and "CCRMA" but am unable to find detailed information about these.

Quote:
These are patches designed to improve system responsiveness with specific emphasis on the desktop, but suitable to any workload.

I understand how to search google and Ive been to the link. Maybe I should ask what peoples experiences are with these kernels. Performace gains? Stability? What can you expect from these kernel types. Will one of these Kernels benefit people of all system types?

I use the Con Kolivas kernel (currently upgrading to 2.6.15-ck2). I do find an improvement over the stock kernel and have never had a problem with these kernels (except when I've done something stupid!) Give them a try and find out for yourself.
