help with xfree

Hi, this is my first time using linux and i chose slackware as my distribution. Whenever i try to start Xfree it gives me an error saying i have no screens, and i cant figure out how to fix it, can you please help?

try xf86config and try to configure your card. If you fail to do so try X -configure . It will auto probe card and try to configure it. After that read te instrctions on the screen to try it . If new config file works mv it to /etc/X11/XF86Config then you can use startx to startx XWindows

Slackware does not set up X during the install, slack sets up bugger all during the install. One of the main reasons I like it is that you have to set it up yourself after the install and as such don't have to worry about removing/fixing the config done by some brain dead gui automagick config tool that some distro's ship with.

Well another problem
I did all that you guys said now i get a different error saying "Addscreen/screeninit failed for driver 0" how can i fix this?

Post the error messages from /var/log/XFree86.0.log.
