help with sendmail

Hi everyone,
can you help me?
That's what I have to do:
I've got 4 users (Bart, Lisa, Homer, Marge) who need to recieve mail from a common e-mail account (via pop) and from their private account, when they recive e-mail form common account they must forward it to other users (if not only one user reads that message) and delete it from server. Not only, but also when they reply to a common message they have to make the reply arrive to other users (otherwise everyone replies to that message) forwarding it or, if it's possible, copying it to sent message folder.
Every user uses Kmail 3.1.5. I think that I can use aliases and send common e-mail via sendmail setting:

MAILER (local)
MAILER (smtp)

Well The problem is that I can't send local messages!
I get something like:
unknown user
I gave newaliases after setting them! I read documentation but it seem ok...
I don't know what to do :-(

Thanks Matteo

Why don't you ask Smithers?

I think using Fetchmail and Sendmail together would be a better idea. Fetchmail is not hard to set up due to the Fetchmailconf program, but Sendmail is quite a challenge. You might want to try the Ksendmail program (downloadable from TUCOWS) to configure Sendmail.

Good luck Homer. :)

another smtp issue: lots of bouncing mail

I recently got sendmail set up as my local smtp server when my old remote one got shut down, and have since noticed a huge jump in the amount of bounced and undeliverable e-mails that I sent - you know, the ones it fails on at first, notifies me in 4 hours, and keeps in the queue to keep trying - but even after 5 days a lot are still failing.

I'm suspicious that something in my settings may be the culprit - could it be a too-short timeout time or a problem with the mail queue or the amount of child processes allowed or anything like that?

i'm using webmin to administer sendmail, nice and easy, and most of the configuration options i've left as the defaults. any ideas?
