HELP: upgrading pulseaudio on Slackware64 14.2 to what's available on -current

has anyone updated pulseaudio on their Slackware64 14.2 system to the latest available on -current? I feel like this may solve my audio issue with the Audioengine HD3 speaker/DAC, but am weary of breakage. can I download the scripts for pulseaudio on -current, compile on my system and upgrade just the pulseaudio package?

I have pulseaudio-13.0 built from current slackbuild running on my system just fine.
My system is hardly stock 14.2 tho, so I'd say if it builds on your system it's safe to upgrade to it.

Looking through the -current changelog, it doesn't look like Pat had to recompile any packages when upgrading pulseaudio. He did mention in the recent update that he needed to add check to the system, because it was required when building pulseaudio with meson.

thank you @mickski56 and @bassmadrigal! looks like upgrading pulseaudio was not as scary as I thought it would be and the 'check' package was the only thing that needed to be added to get everything running. unfortunately this did not fix my original issue of getting the USB DAC working =(
