Help Setting Up NIC With Slackware 10.0

Ok, I posted this question in the hardware forum, to no avail. Hopefully I'll get a llittle more luck here =)

I currently have this NIC installed. My question is this. Before I install Slack 10, I want to know if I am likely to encounter any problems using this to connect to the internet? This tends to be the main thing stopping me from fully learning Linux, so before I install on this box, I'd like to know if I'm likely to succeed.

What should I have to do to get it working under Slackware 10 if it wont work out of the box?

Thanks

-Chris.

You can try boot from a slackware install cd then activate network, you will see if it supported out of the box without recompile kernel

Could you elaborate slightly on the activate network part? On the installation, when it asks for details such as hostname etc, I never know what to put. Any help setting this up would be much appreciated, and I'll try and mess around with the boot CD's now.

Hostname : want you want, a word, a name, this will be the name of your machine.

What sort of internet connection have you ?

I have a broadband connection, 756down and 128up, via an ethernet cable from my nic to my external broadband modem.

I would use DHCP when it asks for IP, and ISP name servers when it ask it.

Where can I find out my ISP name servers? My ISP is blueyonder, a UK firm.
