HELP!! I just upgraded from slack 12.0 to 12.1 now I can't find my mouse

not only do I no longer have /dev/misc/pts0 but the mouse is not at /dev/input/mice
I can't find the mouse in /proc/devices
(and would rather not try hanging the mouse on the pts devices I find there )
to top it all off I lost my wifi card along with my linux internet connection
Is there a guide on upgrading from 12.0 to 12.1 some place
windoz reports my mouse as alps pointing device pluged into ps2 mouse port
using IRQ 0x12
this is a toshiba satellite A205-S5000 laptop

Hi,

'HowTo on upgrading from SlackwareŽ 12.0 to 12.1' is a good post.

'SlackwareŽ Essentials' and 'SlackwareŽ Basics' are two good references.

'Linux Documentation Project' is another good source for reference.

A good admin guide to reference is 'Linux Newbie Admin Guide'.

Did you read the Slackware 12.0 CHANGES_AND_HINTS.TXT, UPGRADE.TXT and RELEASE_NOTES?

These links and others can be found at 'Slackware-Links'. More than just SlackwareŽ links!

GOT IT !!!
I deleted /etc/modules.d/modules.conf.bak
edited /etc/rc.d/rc.gpm so it uses /dev/inputd/mice as the location for the mouse
NOW I need to get the sound and wifi back
I doubt that the sound will be much of a problem I have an ALSA package from
the sond card's (card?)OEM
it may still be working ?
but if wifi is anything it's complex (and oh so neat to have )
