Help! I can't login now

After I modify some font configuration, I can't login X now and I set inittab to login X at default. Also I don't have a book disk since I don't have a floppy driver.

How can I login console at startup to change the configuration file back to what it was?

Please help! Thanks a lot.

Does the X-login screen appear or what? Need some more information, can you use your keyboard or not? Does X freeze completely. You need to specify more info.
What happens when you boot?
Any error messages?
and so on...
cheers!

If you have a floppyless setup, then you should be able to boot from the cd. If so, then instead of running 'setup' after logging in as root (from the cd), make a directory called linux in /mnt ( mkdir /mnt/linux ) mount the root directory ( / ) on the disk to /mnt/linux, such as 'mount /dev/hda1 /mnt/linux'. Make sure you substitute 'hda1' with the correct partition. Then you can make the necessary changes to your config file.

--------------
PS: Whenever you change the fonts, add or subtract fonts, etc., then you should run the command 'fc-cache' to update the system. This will remap the fonts to the system.

press CTRL+ALT+F6 after X started
does it bring you to a non-X login screen?
