Helga: KDE Adopts Code Names via U-Boon-Too....
Looks like KDE is following the practice of the U-boon-too-s and naming their releases.

KDE Ships March Updates, Codenamed "Helga"
By: Sebastian Kügler
2011, 4 Mar
In many parts of the world, spring is around the corner. Time for some spring cleaning, and that's true for your desktop and netbook as well. With 4.6.0 being about a month in the wild, it's time for the first round of updates. The KDE team has made available "Helga" (bearing version number 4.6.1), a series of updates to Desktop and Netbook workspaces, applications and the KDE frameworks that make developers' lives so much easier. The changelog lists some of those fixes, but there are more that are not contained in the changelog. 4.6.1 is also the first release served mainly out of KDE's new Git-based development infrastructure.
As usual, 4.6.1 only contains bugfixes and translation updates, so we expect smooth sailing for everyone who upgrades from 4.6.0 or earlier versions. Enjoy Helga!
Let us hope the name doesn't become "Hellacious Helga."
I was reading the comments that follow the announcement and supposedly,

True, but currently they are the most prominent in the Linux "world."
I could be wrong, but didn't IBM use code names, way back when it was developing Warp? Ditto mickeysoft with various version of ms-winblows.
I miss Warp. It was a good operating system and ahead of its time. I've never heard why they stopped development of Warp, but I've heard a rumor that mickeysoft paid them to "go away."

Well, Helga look nice and stable in a dirty compilation on working machine...
I wait for an (unofficial) build from Alien Bob.
But, IF fellow guys are interested and Alien Bob is still busy, I can do a clean build on a virtual machine, for a x86 "release" on 10 March.
KDE 4.6.1 packages have been sitting here for a week already, but I need to wait for Pat Volkerding to release his updates to -current first. KDE 4.6.1 dependency soprano does not compile on slackware-current as it is now. The pending update to -currennt fixes that.
