heads up on new xorg release and kde
It seems that the latest xorg release breaks some stuff in kde.
people in arch linux are reporting broken dpi settings resulting in huge ui elements https://gitlab.freedesktop.org/xorg/.../-/issues/1241 There are workarounds to fix mentioned in the linked page, I'm just reporting the issue here in case we get the new xorg release in time for slackware 15 |
I don't think we are getting the new X? I seem to recall there being some issue with building drivers against it.
|
I have make one xorg-server.Slackbuild (meson version) and make the package of 21.1.1 version , and it seem it work fine here on radeon HD 5750 card

the driver xf86-video-ati-1.9.1.0, doesn't compil with this xorg-server version , but the git version compil, without problem.

concerning new xorg-server follow link: https://www.linuxquestions.org/quest...ml#post6297511
the only drivers that don't anymore are: - glint - s3 - tga - trident the drivers nouveau and ati can be built with a git version (tested and functional for me with nouveau), and tested by gmgf for ati. |

arch have patch for nouveau
https://github.com/archlinux/svntogi...rver-21.1.diff all others seem to be unmaintained in arch, probably too old ;) |
