having trouble after upgrading 14.1 slackware using slackpkg and slackpkg+ [solved]

everything works except that installpkg doesn't recognize .tgz files or anything. want to note it and see. Machine is slackware 14.1 multilib. updated through slackpkg and then slackpkg+

it went well just installing glibc-solib first.

Now to solve this hopefully.

it was a gcc compiler issue. just reinstalled multilib gcc glibc and even the 32 bit. everything works. Just gotta learn to update.

If you just boot an install cd, there's a quick update method given. It screws up multilib, but you remove multilib first and do it. Then reinstall the new nultilib.
