I have a second drive in this box. It's only 40G and wasn't doing anything so I just figured I'd format it and make it a separate partition for /usr/local and see what happens.

Why not just make it '/usr'. More than enough space to be allocated for general '/usr' usage.

Yeah. That probably would've been better.

This is my first time and for all intended purposes a "trial run."
