If you mean mounting Windows file shares on Linux, you can do this through the smbmount command.

You can view the partitions that on all hard drives with the "fdisk -l" command. Windows partitions can by identified by havind some "FAT" or a "NTFS" partition type. You can then mount the partition with "mount <devicename> <mountpoint>", for instance:
mount /dev/hda1 /mnt/hd
This will make the partition available through /mnt/hd. If you are looking for some automounting utility, it doesn not really exist outside "automount". But if you have installed a third-party GNOME environment with HAL it should work. This can also be done with KDE if you add entries for the devices to /etc/fstab (or if you compile KDE with HAL support). This howto may be useful for you:

I think some of the more gui orientated distributions will have a graphical front end for searching for hardware, but Slackware assumes that the user will do what needs to be done

The Linux kernel does this too.
Read the output of dmesg and modify /etc/fstab to mount new partitions/devices
Automount can prove useful as well
