Was Able to Boot Cdrom

Thanks everyone Cdrom booted. Now I have another problem, its on the sdb or hdb??? thread. Please take quik look.

Did you try firing up cfdisk yet? An example of using cfdisk for an IDE drive might be

#cfdisk /dev/hda

On a SCSI drive it might be

#cfdisk /dev/sda

It depends on your hardware and where you installed Slackware.

It depends if your ATA controler is being managed by the old PATA drivers (in this case it's hdb) or the new libata-based drivers (in this case it's sdb).
Personnaly, I've switched to libata-based drivers and have all my disks as sd*, since that's the direction the kernel is taking anyway and I prefer to have things done sooner than later. It also make all my disks appear the same, whether they are SATA (always sd*) or PATA (depends on the driver).

Quite right on both counts, actually! I remember now it was 5.10 (I do think I upgraded to 6.06 when it came out though.) This not only means my version numbers above were wrong, but also that I spent closer to a year and a half than two years (October 05 to July 07) on Ubuntu.
