Question gtk-qt engine & bonobo-devel

Hi. I'm using slackware 10.2.

I was configuring the gtk-qt source code and at the end it tells me that i don't have the bonobo-devel package. Take a look at this:

Code:
checking for gtk+-2.0 >= 2.2.0... yes
checking GTK2_CFLAGS... -I/usr/include/gtk-2.0 -I/usr/lib/gtk-2.0/include -I/usr/include/atk-1.0 -I/usr/include/cairo -I/usr/include/pango-1.0 -I/usr/include/glib-2.0 -I/usr/lib/glib-2.0/include
checking GTK2_LIBS... -lgtk-x11-2.0 -lgdk-x11-2.0 -latk-1.0 -lgdk_pixbuf-2.0 -lm -lpangocairo-1.0 -lpango-1.0 -lcairo -lgobject-2.0 -lgmodule-2.0 -ldl -lglib-2.0
checking for libbonoboui-2.0 >= 2.4.0... checking whether byte ordering is bigendian... no
checking for MAXPATHLEN... 4096
checking if src should be compiled... yes
checking if kcm_gtk should be compiled... yes
configure: creating ./config.status
config.status: creating Makefile
config.status: creating autopackage/Makefile
config.status: creating autopackage/default.apspec
config.status: creating src/Makefile
config.status: creating kcm_gtk/Makefile
config.status: creating config.h
config.status: executing depfiles commands

********************************************************************
WARNING: You do not have the bonobo development packages installed
These are not required, but strongly recommended, as they improve
some aspects of the theme engine.

Good - your configure finished. Start make now

kim@bebe:~/Desktop/gtk-qt-engine-0.6$
Becouse it tells me it will run better with the bonobo-devel package i started searching the net for it, but google'ing did not do me much good. I can only find .rpm packages, but no .tgz or source code.

Anyone who can help me out?

It's looking for the headers from libbonoboui.... That's a Gnome package and Slackware doesn't ship it anymore. If you have a 10.1 disc 2 laying around, you can install libbonoboui from there. Ofcourse, this might open up a can of worms for you. If it wants to use libbonoboui then most likely it's going to want to use more packages from gnome. I'd try to see if you can get away without using libbonoboui... If it doesn't work, then try adding gnome packages one by one starting with libbonoboui until it works.

Thanks for the reply

I don't need bonobo-devel, but it recomends it. So i have to install libbonoboui. I'll check it out and post here again.

Thanks
