gtk+3: mouse wheel doesn't work (on current Wed Sep 25)

Hi,

I just installed slackware64-current perfectly. But now my mouse wheel has a strange behavior only with gtk3 softwares. If I want to scroll I have to keep pushing middle button while scrolling otherwise it doesn't scroll.

Scrolling works perfectly with firefox or gtk2 softwares. It also worked perfectly with gtk3 softwares on slackware64-14.0.

I have the same xorg configuration I used on slackware64-14.0. I think the problem comes from gtk3, maybe I'm wrong.

I have a simple logitech usb mouse.
I hope my english is not too bad.

What do you think about that ?

It seems to be a bug in gtk3 :
https://bugzilla.gnome.org/show_bug.cgi?id=708570

I also tried to compile gtk+-3.8.4 (last 3.8 version) using Pat's slackbuild, it still does not work. I hope this will be fix soon.

I just found a solution : launch gtk3 apps with GDK_CORE_DEVICE_EVENTS=1.
Code:
% GDK_CORE_DEVICE_EVENTS=1 audacious

Thom1b, thanks, that works, but why do we have to start gtk 3 programs this way? Is this a bug or one more new “feature” of gtk 3/Gnome 3? ’Cause if it’s a bug, they are taking too long to fix it...

Guys, its not a gtk+3 bug

This is an inherent limitation of the XI2 protocol that has been acknowledged by its designers.

exporting the setting makes it maybe easier.

Code:
export GDK_CORE_DEVICE_EVENTS=1
