So this is apparently an invitation to join a Spanish Slackware group with over 300 users. Nice but forum rules still say to post in English only!

Thanks! I already joined.
I second the recommendation for using English, at least as a first language.
Then the Spanish invitation would be OK.

Great and interesting group so far.

Surely announcing a Linux group doesn't amount to advertising.

Ok I understand only in English

the issue is ... if you are inviting a support group in Spanish
and the message is in English ... mmm ... I see it difficult

Really Spanish-speaking users (Latinos) are quite

for example one of the largest slackware communities is in brazil

as many here have a hard time in Spanish, others tell them English ...
imagine that for every comment they put I have to use a translator ..
my English is very technical

from what I saw some thought it was spam .. and in no way pretend that

It's just giving support, sharing experiences about something that we have
in our hearts "slackware" to users in our language

I started in the 90s with slack 1.01 and until today I use slackware ..
this experience that half the time in the use slack ..
I try to share it .. in forums, chat, videos

my intention is to encourage more people to
wear slack and join part of the community

Many users entered this post ... it shows that they need
support in their language ... or share their experience

I thank the administrators of linuxquestions.org for understanding

just in case .. since I use a translator I leave the version
is Spanish, the translator is not 100% reliable

--------------

Just to let you know, I entered this post and I don't speak Spanish. I look at all posts on the forum, and I imagine many of us regulars would do that.

Basically, the view count on the post may not indicate that a large number of people need support in Spanish (although, it could definitely be possible).

Best of luck!

I'm interested, but honestly doubt that Slackware has that many users unable to read English and participate here. After all, the installer itself is English-only, so it's not like you could go too far without understanding what it says

Yeah right

* an installer
* console commands

Here we call it technical English

they are words that we identify and know what it means, like when we see in a music team
(play, stop, eject), technician

It is specific to each subject in this case (computation)

I can reconcile some words of a sentence and decipher what is written about

I can't follow a spoken conversation

------------------

Technical English is a style of writing, that is, a specific way
of expressing ideas, with its own characteristics in semantic and
structural aspects. It is a form of writing that is used within
a particular discipline, to express more clearly the ideas of
that discipline. Therefore, it may not be useful to communicate
on a daily basis. It differs from other styles, such as poetic,
colloquial or narrative. Although each discipline has its own
technical English, there are characteristics present in the technical
English of all of them:

Impersonal: the sentences do not refer to the subject who
speaks but to concrete objects.

Brief and precise: it does not provide more information than is necessary,
but all the necessary information is provided.
Seeks to reflect objectivity

Passive constructions: in order to reflect greater objectivity and suppress
the observer subject, sentences are constructed passively. In this way
attention can be focused on the most important element of the sentence.

Specific terminology: the technical English of each discipline has its own
terms that must be studied in order to communicate with experts of
that discipline. In addition to words, technical English may have
specific grammatical constructions other than everyday English.

On the other hand, words that are used in everyday English acquire a
different meaning in technical English. The specific words of each
discipline do not usually have synonyms.

Preponderance of the verb "to be" (ser)

Static constructions: similar to passive constructions,
but the emphasis is not on an action but on a state.
Inverted Proposals

Logical progression: generally a paragraph is the
logical continuation of the previous one.

Impresionante, me alegro que hay una comunidad de usuarios de Slackware tan grande. Si hubiera un grupo castellano en Matrix me sumaría

English: Impressive, I'm glad that there's a community of Slackware users that big. If there was a Spanish-speaking group on Matrix I would join
