got 2.6 working.. finally

First off, thanks to those that posted and helped in all the threads (not just mine) about 2.6 issues. Here is what seemed to work:

1. Don't try to copy your 2.4 .config file over or use it with 2.6. Just do the make menuconfig or make xconfig with 2.6. If you want to keep your old settings, open another terminal, cd to your usr/src/linux and do a make menuconfig or make xconfig to see what was selected in 2.4.22

2. 2.6.0-test7 gave me problems but 2.6.0-test6-mm4 seems to be working fine.

3. I had to download the new module_init_tools ... .15pre2 version to get the modules to load properly. The 9.1 cds come with .14 version and that didn't seem to work for me. Read the README to install the new module_init_tools.

These 3 things I found out by searching through the forums and reading what issues others were working.

So now I can mount and unmount my CD-ROM but now I can't get my wireless working in 2.6 yet.

I'll have to do my downloading in 2.4.22 for now.
