Just another idea. It could be something in your current profile that is causing Chrome to crash. Try starting with a clean scratch profile like so:

google-chrome --user-data-dir=/tmp/chrometest
When you are finished testing you can simply delete the temp profile directory /tmp/chrometest

EDIT: This effectively does the same as:

but without having to rename the main profile and cache directories, so it is a little neater and less risky. ;)

After the nvidia driver update and the google chrome update I didn't have a single crash.
(It's still running since the last post)

The terminal output is this

google-chrom is still running!

I also thought on the profile idea!
I will let it run it for some time to see if it is really ok!
