Going to be running Slackware on my laptop what are the things I need to worry about
I have a gateway laptop I don't have all the spec's but from what I remember
AMD Turion 64 X2 Nvidia Geforce go 6100 (nvidia says that it will be supported in the 9xxx series of drivers) 80gb IDE Hard Drive (60gb - Winfows XP/Vista, 1gb - Linux swap, 16gb - Linux root) some sort of wireless card that is supported by Linux Sigmatel audio card (still can't get it to work but I think it is supported in alsa 1.0.12) nforce 4 stuff (this stuff is all supported in 6.17 series of the kernel) I've been doing some research but I have no idea where to start to make all the power saving features work. I'm going to be using kde, if you need to know that. Thanks in advance. ~Andrew~ P.S. just in case I confused anyone I would just like to know how to make all the power saving features work, and if possible how to do it for slackware 11    |
For power saving check out this thread, the guy there recomends some good sites.
