I have gqrx working fine with gnuradio-3.8.0.0 with a SDRPlay thingey, but you have to compile the gr3.8 branch from https://github.com/GHPS/gqrx, and I had to patch gqrx.pro to get it to find log4cpp (let me know if you want the patch). I also used the gr3.8 branch of the gr-osmosdr repository at git@github.com:igorauad/gr-osmosdr.git, using the soapy backend. I don't believe it is possible to compile gr-iqbal at present under gnuradio-3.8, but I haven't found that I needed it.

Update I am wrong - there is a commit from 4 days ago to build gr-iqbal with gnuradio-3.8 in the git master branch of gr-iqbal, which works fine for me (just installed it).

Wink Solution

I found that simply commenting-out the find log4cpp in cmake did allow for cmake to finish, but I was only able to build volk. To build the grc, run time, etc I had to build log4cpp, but it did not create a FindLog4cpp.cmake in /usr/share/cmake-3.10/Modules, so I created my own FindLog4cpp.cmake by hand and now everything builds just fine for version 3.8. You will of course need to change it to match your own paths.

I also have the nooelec but for weather imagery from satellites.

I could never get gqrx to build so ended up just downloading the pre built from their site, install jack and portaudio and away it goes. Can't fault Cubicsdr either
