Gnome System Monitor and kernel 2.6.1 in Slack 9.1
Since i compiled kernel 2.6.1 the memory and swap readings of Gnome's System Monitor are 0.
Does it have to do with proc? Can it be fixed? thanks. |
Hi!
I have the same problem, also on Slack 9.1. A few things I have discovered: -While the graphical system monitor is behaving as described in the above post, top is reporting both memory and swap usage just fine. Thus, in the meantime my suggestion is to just use top for resource monitoring. -Take a look at the follwing: http://www.ussg.iu.edu/hypermail/lin...09.1/0523.html I am not at home right now, but I'm gonna try this once I'm home (in about 5-6 hours) and see if I come up with anything. Anybody else have any ideas? |
I just read a little more stuff on what this proposed solution actually means ... :-)
I wonder if you have to have compiled your kernel with the option that allows you to mount your memory as a writable filesystem in order to do this (I didn't)... |
