Some comments:

1) I used the FTP link to download the ISO. Although I have a broadband connection, the FTP connection speed was barely faster than dial-up and required leaving my box running more than a dozen hours to download the ISO image. I cannot use BitTorrent because my ISP contract forbids any file-sharing. If GNOME Slacky is going to be available at an FTP line then please consider a server with a better connection and bandwidth.

2) I started a thread about improving Xfce within the stock Slackware. I am wondering whether a minimum install of GNOME Slacky (installing only core files and bindings) would help provide such improvements. Would somebody with an Xfce and GNOME Slacky background care to expand upon this idea or even write a mini how-to?

3) There are a handful of missing GTK apps I would like to see supported in GNOME Slacky (or concurrently in Xfce). These apps have Windows or KDE equivalents.

gURLChecker: replacement for KLinkStatus, a GUI web site link verifier
Meld: replacement for Kompare/Kdiff3 (GUI front end for diff)
UrlGfe: replacement for KGet
GHex: replacement for KHexEditor

Unknown GTK replacements for KDE apps:
???: replacement for KFindFile (which supports in-file string searches)
???: replacement for KFileReplace (which supports global string replacements; also see PowerGrep in Windows)
???: replacement for KFormula editor
???: replacement for KThesaurus
???: replacement for KSysguard
???: replacement for KUser
???: replacement for KCron
???: replacement for KChmviewer

I have been a long-time KDE user and I am a newbie to GNOME and Xfce. Therefore please forgive me if such GTK apps already exist in GNOME Slacky. Nonetheless, I would appreciate any editing of this list if such apps exist. Thanks.

Sorry but at the moment we have only this Ftp mirror, maybe it's overloaded ! We are looking for Ftp space for the new GSLacky 2.20.0!
I'm non Xfce expert, but i think that this is a good idea! About apps, i will build as soon as possible!
Ghex is present in Gnome-Slacky repository on www.slacky.eu

Ps. A good new Gnome 2.20.0 (System-tools-backends) have finally Slackware 12.0 support!
