gnome packages in slaq

I would like to use banshee or rhythmbox. Unfortunately those are gnome packages. Do I have to install the entire gnome in order to get those to work?

thanks!

Rhythmbox requires packages like libgpod, libbonoboui, gstreamer, gnome-keyring, and nautilus-cd-burner to be present for the installation to work properly. Banshee needs things like mono, dbus-sharp, hal, gtk-sharp-2, musicbrainz, nautilus-cd-burner, gstreamer and others. In short, much of the normal Gnome environment would need to be on your system. But no, technically you do not need to install a full Gnome desktop to run these applications -- just the actual required programs and libraries.

You probably only need about 60 -75 of the 120 GNOME programs to run just that program...

uh, that sucks. Those are the only two that have similar functions to itunes, and I really need that. Damn, I guess I'll try installing the main packages first, before I install the entire gnome. Oh well, I'll give it a shot! Thanks for all the advice!
