gnome application resizing?
Probably asked before but I'm not finding this anywhere (newbie). I've installed slack9.0 using disks, following suggested setting for x windows. In gnome, an application (like mahjong) is truncated at the bottom and I can't see what's down there and it can't seem to resize. I've removed the bottom panel, but the bottom is still truncated. Is there a way to fix this for all applications...and without having to reinstall (I've done this twice already)?

What resolution are you running X?
It sounds like you need to increase the desktop dimensions. You might try to use [ctrl][alt][+] or [-]. The last keys must be on the numeric keypad. If possible X will cycle through the available desktop resolutions. If not, then you need to define a larger desktop either in the /etc/X11/XF86Config file or if framebuffer mode then in /etc/lilo.conf. For framebuffer mode vga=791 in lilo.conf is 1024x768x65k. Remember to run lilo after making any changes to lilo.conf. |
