Angry Gnome 2.8 instalation problem on Slack 10.0 - gnome-vfs

Hi,
I've got problem when installing Gnome 2.8 on Slack 10.0.
I've installed (using instructions on gnome homepage) all sources to gnome-vfs
When installing gnome-vfs ./configuire and make are OK, but make install returns errors:
Code:
root@spaceship:/home/mmm/gnome/GNOME/gnome-vfs-2.8.0#make install
 ...
/usr/local/bin/gconftool-2: relocation error: /usr/local/bin/gconftool-2: undefined symbol: gconf_persistent_name_get_address_list
