Gnome 2.2 font.conf problem
Okay, a little background first. I had Slack 8.1, which yesterday I upgraded following the instructions, using a Slack 9.0 cd I had. KDE 3.1 works fine, but when I try to boot into Gnome, it exits with an error that fonts.conf is incorrect or missing. There is a fonts.conf in /etc/fonts/, but as far as I can tell, I don't actually have fontconfig installed, as I can't find a program with that name.
I have a lot more experience with KDE than Gnome, so I'm a bit baffled.
Just a PS, I LOVE swaret. It's great.
