GMA 950 Black Screen

Hello, I have a compaq c500 laptop with Intel gma 950 integrated video. I just installed slackware 14 x86 on it and every boot i end up with a black screen after the regular text that you see during a boot process (i.e. kernel modules loading and file system mounting), even after modifing initab to load in runlevel one, I still get the black screen after boot. I googled this thoroughly, what the hell am i doing wrong? Does anyone have any insight?

Add the option "nomodeset" to your kernel options at boot time.

Chances are the Intel driver is trying to load during the boot process using the kernel modesetting feature, which works for only a handful of video cards out there correctly, and it's not loading correctly. It's a long known issue.

Are you trying to tell me there's no way to get the GMA 950 integrated graphics working with Slackware?
