GlibC troubles

I'm trying to install ATI's new drivers on Slackware 10.0. The problem is I get this error (included last two lines only since I think that's enough"

libm.so.6(GLIBC_2.0) is needed by fglrx-4.3.0-3.11.1
libpthread.so.0(GLIBC_2.0) is needed by fglrx-4.3.0-3.11.1

Ok, so I clearly need Glibc. The thing is when I try to install from source, I'm unable to. First it says to install from a different directory (config) so I go to another directory and type ../glibc-2.3.2/configure and it seems to configure it just fine. My problem then is running make, I cannot run make in the current directory I ran configure too, and if I go to the glibc directory I can't run make because it says I need to run configure (which I did but in a different folder). I'm pretty much at a loss of what to do on this part, so I searched for awhile and then found a tgz for slackware. I run that with installpkg, and it seems to work, but after I am finished and run the ati driver again it still says I need glibc.. So, for whatever reason this isn't installing like it says it is, but I can't figure out the source install so I'm kind of stuck.. I've read simular topics here but they were of no real help.

If you're running Slackware 10 you already have libm.so.6 and libpthread.so.0 in /lib so don't reinstall glibc. You could break an awful lot of things reinstalling such an important shared library.

Doh, ok. Do you know why it would say I don't have the files for that then? Because as it is now I can't install the ati drivers. Here's the full error message I get when I try to run the ati driver install.

/bin/sh is needed by fglrx-4.3.0-3.11.1
ld-linux.so.2 is needed by fglrx-4.3.0-3.11.1
libX11.so.6 is needed by fglrx-4.3.0-3.11.1
libXext.so.6 is needed by fglrx-4.3.0-3.11.1
libc.so.6 is needed by fglrx-4.3.0-3.11.1
libdl.so.2 is needed by fglrx-4.3.0-3.11.1
libm.so.6 is needed by fglrx-4.3.0-3.11.1
libpthread.so.0 is needed by fglrx-4.3.0-3.11.1
libc.so.6(GLIBC_2.0) is needed by fglrx-4.3.0-3.11.1
libc.so.6(GLIBC_2.1) is needed by fglrx-4.3.0-3.11.1
libc.so.6(GLIBC_2.1.3) is needed by fglrx-4.3.0-3.11.1
libm.so.6(GLIBC_2.0) is needed by fglrx-4.3.0-3.11.1
libpthread.so.0(GLIBC_2.0) is needed by fglrx-4.3.0-3.11.1

Did you install the full glibc package or just the runtime version. You'll need the full version that is located in the /slackware/l dir on cd/ftp/whatever .

I tried to install this package - ftp://ftp.slackware.com/pub/slackwar...3.2-i486-6.tgz

and then I don't remember where from, but I had source for glibc-2.3.3 that I tried without any success to install. I'm thinking maybe installpkg glibc.tgz may not be working right for me... This is the message it gives me (lack of one anyways)

Code:
bash-2.05b# installpkg glibc*.tgz
Installing package glibc-2.3.2-i486-6...
PACKAGE DESCRIPTION:
glibc: glibc (GNU C libraries)
glibc:
glibc: This package contains the GNU C libraries and header files. The GNU
glibc: C library was written originally by Roland McGrath, and is currently
glibc: maintained by Ulrich Drepper. Some parts of the library were
glibc: contributed or worked on by other people.
glibc:
glibc: You'll need this package to compile programs.
glibc:
Executing install script for glibc-2.3.2-i486-6...

bash-2.05b#
And it all runs in just a few seconds, so it doesn't seem to be installing.. That's what I just noticed all tgz packages are doing. Am I doing something wrong with the simple installpkg.?
