Gimp problem on Slackware current

Hi,
I'm running Slackware current, and I just downloaded and installed the latest version of Gimp from www.slackware.org (package "gimp-2.2.6-i486-2.tgz").
Now, when I try to run Gimp, I get this error message:
Code:

gimp: symbol lookup error: gimp: undefined symbol: gimp_enum_set_value_descriptions
How can I solve this stupid problem?
Many thanks!

Did you try a ldconfig as root ?

Also what is your output with :
Code:

grep gimp_enum_set_value_descriptions /usr/lib/libgimp-2.0.so

I am also having the same issue. I issues an ldconfig, same result. Then:

grep gimp_enum_set_value_descriptions /usr/lib/libgimp-2.0.so
Binary file /usr/lib/libgimp-2.0.so matches

2.2.8 is the most current?

Downloading it now.

No problems with 2.2.8 on my Slackware current system.

I'll get that down. gimp-2.0 at the command line gives me the older version ok in the meantime.
