gimp (1.3.21) and gimp-perl - need help installing gimp-perl

I'm now using the newest available gimp off the slackware site (actually off a mirror).

I've just found a nice function -> slicing images, through gimp guides and images->transform->guillotine.

well, this works just fine. BUT I've heard of Perl-o-Tine, which does all the saving in a desired format and its compression (jpg) for me - wow, sounds like a really cool tool. now I've downloaded the Gimp off...: and now I'm stuck.

please.... someone..... have mercy with my poor heart.... I have no hair anymore... I've gone crazy...

this is what I get:
