It will not work with Slack 10.2 and I don't have a clue what to do.It works fine with Slamd64 and 2.6 kernel.

Any advice welcome.

OK... What chipset does it use? Have you inserted it into the kernel? Does /etc/rc.d/rc.modules need to be changed?

Uncommenting via-rhine in rc.modules had no effect.

I don't know where or what to add to the kernel to make this work.

I have rebuilt kernels in freebsd to get cd writers to work but I have not done any kernel compiling under linux.

Of I remember correctly, you need to use a 2.6 version kernel and the via_velocity driver to get the nic working.
