Gforce 210 driver installation

What is the correct method for installing the proprietary drivers for the NVidia Gforce 210 video card for use with Slackware 14.2?

That all depends. For the nvidia 210 GPU, you will need the 340.104 version. You can either use the run script (as root) directly from Nvidia or use the Slackbuilds.org buildscripts to create standard Slackware packages (nvidia-legacy340-driver and nvidia-legacy340-kernel). Either way works well.

If you do install the proprietary drivers, make sure to first blacklist nouveau (and then reboot, or remove loaded nouveau module) via, for example, intalling extra/xf86-video-nouveau-blacklist/xf86-video-nouveau-blacklist-noarch-1.txz from the Slackware DVD.

Which Slackware packages do I need, and in what order do I compile and install them? I tried to install the slackware packages before, and regardless of what order I tried to install them, it always would freeze when I try to go back into graphic mode :(.

Maybe just skip the slackbuilds then and instead try the "Installation via the nVIDIA Binary" procedure described here, it tends to work well enough:

Never mind, I finally figured out how to solve the problem. I first compiled the nvida legacy kernel, installed it, then saved the .tgz file to an external hard drive, then I compiled the legacy driver file and saved the .tgz file to an external hard drive, then I compiled nvidia-cg-toolkit and saved it to an external hard drive, then I re-installed Slackware 14.2, disabled nouveau, and installed the drivers that I had compiled.
