Ok, well. Again Geforce4 ti4200 128mb AGP8x, my card.. downloaded those drivers, did make, make install. Fixed xf86config. Result, screen going blue with random characters. So obvisouly it didn't work for my card. Any other ideas?

maybe you wanna read my post?

vexer 04-24-2003 09:36 AM

I did read your post. I did that. I rebooted, No splash screen.

startx -> Garbage filled screen -> No ctrl-alt-Backspace/Delete

Need to do a manual reboot.

What I did was,

chmod 777 Nvidia---driversblah
./Nvidia---driversblah
Agree to disclaimer
No to interface
Ok to No interface made
---Program installs
---Worked, now read /usr/share/docs/Nvidia-GLX-version/README
cat /usr/share/doc...../README
pico XF86Config Uncomment Load glx. Driver "nv" to "nvidia" uncomment VideoRam 13xxxx
Reboot (to make sure)
startx
----garbage

i reckon you got my mail vexer - did you try my suggestion?

vexer 04-24-2003 03:42 PM

I tried /usr/lib/svgalib/accel and it tells me I have no acceleration
I try testaccel, it works fine on mode (24: 1024x7**x64K)

Nothing works damn it! I swear, Geforce is the worst gpx card in the world.
