Getting usb thumbdrive as partition option

Is there a way to get usb thumbdrive as a partition option when choosing the drive to install slackware 10.2 on??

such as the fedora way of "linux expert" on boot prompt..

EDIT: sorry got it done already.. i didnt partition it.. slackware didnt see it as a whole /dev/sda as fedora did..

Just an aside to your question. One thing I do on newer machines that don't have a floppy drive is just edit the already existing floppy entry in fstab so /mnt/floppy becomes my thumdrive mount point. Then /dev/sda mounts on /mnt/floppy since the thumbdrives serve the same purpose.

Were you able to boot Slackware 10.2 from the USB key? have you ever got it to boot from a USB HDD as a matter of curiosity..? I have tinkered with plenty of 'USB bootable distro's' >>> for use on thumb drives and they work fine... But what about USB Hard Disks?

I have tried a number of times to USB II HDD and i cannot get it to work. I figure there is a file that i need to add some info into very early in the scheme of things... the drive will boot but then panic or just say that it does not recongnise /dev/sda1 etc... assuming this is becuase the system has not actually loaded /dev/sda1 yet ;P

Hmmm - i know this is a post for a differnt thread just saw it and thought i would ask.. no biggie..
