Getting some error messages after upgrading kernel...

[edit] I fixed it. Sorry about this post.

I ended up just putting hw_random in my /etc/hotplug/blacklist file.

[/edit]

Hey all,

I just had to rebuild a slackware 9.1 box. (another box that had been running 2.4.22 kernel).

I have upgraded to 2.4.23 with no problems in the past. So I did fresh load on this other box because I i didn't want to take any chances with security.

Anyway.... I did just like slackware suggested with upgradepkg and it will boot into KDE with no problems.

I don't know if I need to worry about it or not. I did everything like I have before (which is how the Slackware website says it should be done).

Any ideas? By the way, my sound is working fine :)

Here is what I get in my /var/log/syslog file:

Sometimes its the simple fixes and updates that can help others. Thanks for the update, I'm sure alot wouldn't have ever thought about adding it to the hotplug blacklist.

Cheers.
